Streamline Your Flight Planning with PilotCalc
PilotCalc is a user-friendly flight planning tool that simplifies the navigation and calculation processes for pilots, enhancing efficiency and safety during flights.
PilotCalc is a utility that offers a Flight Log and Time Calculator functionality. The core features of the Time Calculator and Flight Log are provided for free without any advertisements. However, users have the option to make two one-time in-app purchases to enhance the app's capabilities and tailor its appearance.
The Flight Log feature is tailored for pilots to input essential flight details and add notes for a series of flights. It automatically computes block, airborne, duty, and tech log times. By entering scheduled times before the flight, users can also access a departure countdown. The Flight Log supports both UTC and system time. The Flight Log Preferences in-app purchase allows for customization of various aspects such as modifying departure countdown alerts, colors, enabling audio notifications, choosing time display formats, adjusting Duty Start and Duty End time periods, and switching tech log calculations between block times and airborne times.
The Time Calculator simplifies logbook entries with minimal keystrokes and enables quick hour and minute calculations within a 24-hour period. It accommodates adding hours without practical limitations but does not support negative time values. All calculations are stored in a rolling tape for easy reference. The free version offers three calculator keyboard color options along with the hours and minutes calculator. Upgrading with the Calculator Preferences in-app purchase unlocks additional features including eight more keyboard color choices, a decimal time calculator, and a basic arithmetic calculator. The Calculator Preferences automatically convert between hours and minutes and decimal calculations when switching between the two calculators.
The app is optimized for iPhone screens but scales well on larger iPad displays. However, it does not support synchronization across devices at this time.
